Interesting story, if you know little of Palpatine's background.  Over time, his ambitious character has became one of my favorites, ALMOST as much of a fan as I am of Master Luminara.

In many ways, it's a lot like how Chancellor Palpatine/Sidious lured Anakin, who became Darth Vader.
