I've been a Mega Man gamer ever since the first two original MM's around 1986-88 for both, and had played the Super Nintendo Mega Man X series, with Mavericks instead of redundant Dr. Wily robots for eight games in a row in the "Classic Mega Man Series". By the time it got to Mega Man X8, the soundtrack included electric guitars and a heavy metal soundtrack. The guitars in both Crab Maverick battle themes from the intro stage (Noah's Park) reminds me a lot of the group Dire Straits ("Money For Nothing") in the early-mid 80's. A game isn't all that great without a decent soundtrack and boss battle themes to back it up, and MMX8 is a winner, and best of all, mostly side-scrolling like the classic MM series!
MUSIC CUE 01: "INTRUSION: CRAB MAVERICK"
MUSIC CUE 02: "VS. MAVERICK"
(I think both of these music cues are re-used in a couple later battles, like the half-way boss in Avalanche Yeti's area, is playing music cue 01 during that battle of a ship flying ahead of you and dropping enemies left and right).
