Hands-down my favorite Prince LP is his debut For You from 1978, back when he was recording at the age of 16 and his original sound was disco/funk and the recognizable "Minneapolis Sound" (much like "The Motown Sound"). Lyrically, he comes across as a genuine, "real" guy and I believe at the time was with his high school sweetheart, Susan Moonsie - later to become a member of Prince's first girl group, Vanity 6, later Apollonia 6.
Prince wasn't ALWAYS filthy-mouthed, hardly started that way! LOL For You is his most under-rated LP, because he was so young at the time. Lyrically mature, I don't see the problem - totally worth picking up, even if you're a casual fan.
