A recent episode from my current favorite true crime show in its' second season already: Cold Justice. This team focuses on smalltown cold cases, because the unscrupulous folks let cold cases continue to be cold cases - with rare exceptions, for those actually concerned with identifying Jane/John Doe remains found in their county/town.
I've thought about bringing the story of a friend of mine from Kentucky who's been "missing" since 1991 to their attention. It was never investigated to begin with and EVERYONE knows foul play was involved because smalltown people are gossipers and can't STFU. About anything.
The show keeps getting better and I'm just now starting this new-ish episode, myself.
