"I'M GONNA SLAP HIM IN THE FACE WITH THE UNEXPECTED"

Laura Lee is the most underrated artist signed onto Holland-Dozier-Holland's Hot Wax and Invictus labels after they'd left songwriting hits for Motown in the late 60's.  Honey Cone was and still is their biggest and most-remembered group, Freda Payne their #1 solo artist, and Laura Lee was the one with the attitude, gravely voice similar to Millie Jackson, who released about the same amount of LP's as Freda Payne before Hot Wax/Invictus closed shop for good around 1977.
