Like many of their shows in the 70's, each member of The Supremes got at least one solo spot in the setlist. Susaye Greene had been performing "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" for her solo since she joined, but on the night of their final farewell concert (1977, Drury Lane Theater - London), she performed Stevie Wonder's "Knocks Me Off My Feet". Before joining The Supremes, Susaye was in Stevie's "Wonderlove" group as well as a Raylette for Ray Charles. She's also co-written songs like "I Can't Help It" by Michael Jackson, and "Free" by Deniece Williams.
Susaye AKA "The LAST Supreme" IMO has the broadest range of any of the 8 official Supreme from beginning to the end, including those whistle-high notes like Mariah Carey was doing back in the day - Miss Carey wasn't the first. That would be Susaye and Minnie Riperton. A classic-trained musician and has in the past decade released two solo albums.
A few years ago for my Supremes 70's Reissues group, had a questionnaire interview with Miss Greene, had posted it on the group back then and may still have it somewhere - if I run across it, will mostly definitely post it here.
