Like disco singer Andrea True's experimental punk rock LP War Machine from 1980 (Italy-only released), country singer Tanya Tucker tried the same the year before in 1979 on her Tear Me Apart LP. Allegedly she was boo'ed off the stage at some country music event for performing one of the rockers from her new album at the time. Well who gives a fuck of the opinions of inbreds, I thought it was allright, kinda out of left field like War Machine, but some of the cuts sticks to her country roots too.
Since Tear Me Apart has never been released on CD, I had to digitize the LP myself with my cassette deck. The first cut "Blind Love" is my favorite one - sounds like something that could have been on Cyndi Lauper's She's So Unusual from 1983. It's definitely not country, which is what Tanya is most known for.
