RETURN OF THE YOUTUBE TWILIGHT ZONE: VOLUME 02

There's so much outrageous, over-the-top and outright fucked-up things on YouTube that it kinda feels like you're in the Twilight Zone wading through all the BS.  And so I'd made about 4 compilation volumes OF those videos a few months ago and thought about reviving all the fuckery in one place again.  I'll put one together every once in a while, when I can handle THAT much crap in one sitting.

"If it's fucked-up, it'll show up on YouTube!"

 VOLUME 02

oh boy.

VOLUME 01:

RETURN OF THE YOUTUBE TWILIGHT ZONE: VOLUME 01

AMAGON GAMEPLAY [ZONES 1 + 2]: NES/NINTENDO SYSTEM GAME (1988)

I've had a love/hate thing with American Sammy's NES/Nintendo System game Amagon from 1988.  Being mostly a fan of side-scrollers like Mega Man and Super Mario Bros., I WANTED to like Amagon, but there's one major flaw: it's a difficult game to begin with, but it's one of those "take 1 hit, lose a life" games.  No energy/life meter.  The only thing that can save you is finding the block to transform into mussly MegaGon.

Because the game is so difficult to beat "as is", and that's in agreement with the majority of gamers (including reviews on YouTube), I got a Game Genie attachment to use with Amagon and with that, can make the game a little easier and definitely more playable.  And now I can say I actually LIKE Amagon!  It took long enough for it to grow on me, and the Game Genie was the key! LOL!!

FREDA PAYNE GETS HIGH 33 TIMES IN LESS THAN 02:40!!

Following in the spirit of the Rick James post from yesterday.....

Isn't it ironic that Freda Payne claims "I Get High" for a grand total of - I counted 'em - THIRTY-THREE times in less than 02:40 on her 1977 single "I Get High (On Your Memory)".  WE HEARD YOU the first TWO times - no need to remind us, or is you just forgetting you told us?!

So she's saying she gets high simply by thinking about her man?

Oh Miss Freda - it's going to take MUCH more than THAT!  YOU'RE just delusional about all that!

*****************

Side note:  If ANYTHING.....

I get high off (1) the good ones: 70's Supremes, KISS, Culture Club, Bronski Beat, Andrea True and all them (2) decent weed, not that nasty crap (3) ANYTHING blueberry.

Oh yeah, and tasers.

SCOTT PRESENTS TRASHY DAYTIME AMERICAN TELEVISION MADE TRASHIER!!

Give me one of those hysterical, ratchet and bottom-of-the-barrel daytime T.V. shows like the Maury Povich Show or Steve Wilkos and I'll have a ball like Animal with ten cans of paint and his bare hands!

Maury's AWESOME CREEPY laugh!!

YEAH I have WAY too much fun with this BS!

"I'M HIGH, TOO HIGH TO COPE - I'M HIGH ON LOVE, AIN'T HAD NO DOPE"

OH you're so full of shit, Rick James.

But "High On Your Love Suite/One Mo Hit (Of Your Love)" is STILL my favorite Rick James single, from one of his early 1979 Motown LP's.

AXE ME NO QUESTIONS AND I'LL TELL YOU NO LIES!

And Minnie's like "Bitch, PLEASE."

STOP looking at me like that!!

PART 1: 3RD PARTY "LOVE IS ALIVE" DJ PROMO VIDEO
PART 2: MY HOMEBREW 3RD PARTY MEGAMIX - IN JABBA'S PALACE!

"THIS DECISION TO WAGE BATTLE AGAINST THE OLD WORLD WAS MADE CONSCIOUSLY......"

"......in other words, we possess the power to go Maverick at will!"

From the Mega Man X8 (Capcom - PS2) soundtrack, the final two battles with Lumine - the main antagonist of MMX8.

Capcom always composed great music for all the Mega Man games, starting with the very first one in 1986!  The MMX8 soundtrack is more modern, with electric guitars and some near death-metal in some battles LOL!!

The first Lumine battle tune is slower, with pipe organs and choir voices, similar to something from Castlevania.  The second battle tune is more intense, heavy metal guitar, pipe organs and all - ending with a bang.

Part 1: Lumine (as himself)
Part 2: SUPER Lumine (winged, dive bombs X!!)

"I FOUND MUCH MORE THAN MY WORDS COULD SAY"

An unreleased cut by The Supremes - Jean Terrell, Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong - from 1970, which sounds a lot like something that would have been included on Right On, their first LP together as this grouping.

Of all the fan-circulated bootlegs I've heard over the years, "Stepping On A Dream" is one of my favorites with Jean singing lead but has yet to surface on any of the 70's Supremes collections, like the 70's Anthology nor the Supremes 70's Boxed Set Volume 1/Jean Terrell Years.

Harry!!  Andy!!  HIPPO!!!  Where IS this one, it's got to be in the vaults somewhere LOL!!

VINTAGE VIDEO GAME AD SCANS FROM DAZZLER COMICS

Over the weekend had scanned a few video game ad's from 1981-83 Dazzler comics.  The ones I remember playing are Popeye and Empire Strikes Back.

HALLOWEEN 2013: PLASTIC CANVAS COASTER PATTERN

For anyone who does plastic canvas, here's a little earlybird gift so you can have them finished by Halloween: a jack-o-lantern pattern I'd designed, with photo examples.  Simple and also versatile - you can alternate the yellow eyes/mouth/nose with orange yarn, the orange "face" with black yarn and the green border with orange yarn - a silhouette version.  If I have the time, I'll make that version as well and post a photo of that later.

Enjoy, and Happy Early Halloween!

PEDO'S SAY THE DARNDEST THINGS

Sure.  A 13-year old, home alone girl (or boy) REALLY wants you to come over!  All the boys their own age, but YOU'RE the one they're interested in LOL!!

The first old coot (Florida) tells Chris Hansen they were going to "play games".  Like Papaw can keep up with that decoy girl on Dance, Dance Revolution!  I'd actually like to see that, especially with that limp of his that reminded me of the way Leatherface walked with the leg brace in Texas Chainsaw 3.

The second guy (Kentucky), despite his "wrestling" name, actually has cerebral palsy and walks with a cane.  But that didn't stop him from showing up to molest a kid - and wasn't his first time caught trying to do this.  I lived in Kentucky for 21 years.....these people have no concept of the law, the age of consent or much of anything else except their own selves, for that matter.  Overflowing in undeserved narcissism.  Even though he's on welfare, that also doesn't stop him from proposing a taxpayer-paid welfare fraud weddin' to the teenager.  Oh boy.  And he also blames the girl for "making him" show up at the house in the first place.  Oh, and he also wanted to "shave" the teenage girl too, which made me think of the yak-shaving episode from Ren & Stimpy, for some strange reason.

The last guy is self-explanatory.

"LISTENING TO THE SOUND OF MUSIC ALL AROUND - THERE'S MAGIC IN THE AIR"

"Don't you think it's time you've came out from behind
that mask you wear that hides your heartache
If you follow me, I promise you will see
the pain will disappear before the day breaks"

FRIDAY MIXING FUN!: THREE 80's GIRL GROUP 12" MEGAMIX

SWEET SENSATION VS. THE COVER GIRLS VS. EXPOSE'

I'd thrown this Megamix together on the fly yesterday, in time to have ready for this weekend.

Personally, I've been a fan of Expose' the longest, secondly The Cover Girls (especially the 90's configuration with co-lead singers Michelle Valentine and Evelyn Escalera), and was only a fan of a couple singles by Sweet Sensation.  Nonetheless, I have each and every LP by all three groups, and that's including the compilations and remix albums.

When all three groups came out with hit singles between 1986-88, they all fell under the "Latin Freestyle/Dance" category.  Sweet Sensation called it quits after their two albums, and when The Cover Girls and Expose' continued into the 90's, drastically changed their music styles.  The Cover Girls hired two new lead singers and became more of an R&B and later hip-hop group and Expose', losing lead singer Gioia, were on their last LP trying to be molded by their label to become a group along the lines of Wilson Phillips.  Expose' temporarily broke up around 1995 and Cover Girls in 1997.

Today, all three groups are reunited with their original lineup's and touring America at smaller venues.

SWEET SENSATION: "TAKE IT WHILE IT'S HOT" [1988]
THE COVER GIRLS: "ALL THAT GLITTERS ISN'T GOLD" [1989]
EXPOSE': "WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW" [1989]

HONORABLE MENTION:  KLYMAXX, ANOTHER 80's GIRL GROUP WITH ABOUT THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF MEMBERS OF SWEET SENSATION, THE COVER GIRLS AND EXPOSE' COMBINED!  THEY TOO CONTINUED INTO THE 90's.:

"YOU'RE THE GREATEST" [1981]

MORE FRIDAY FUN!!: HALF'ISH-HOUR MIX-SHOW VOLUME 02: 70's/80's DISCO

Here's another half-hour (more like close to 40 minutes on THIS one LOL!!) mix-show, featuring an eclectic group of disco from both the 70's and early 80's.  On this volume, I'd managed to sneak in "Let Yourself Go", my favorite single by The Supremes from 1977, along with more well-known stuff like "Ring My Bell" by Anita Ward and classic disco mainstays like "Brazil" by the Ritchie Family and "Jump The Gun" by The Three Degrees.

I guess I was having so much fun, I lost track of time on this one!  It won't be a last time, trust.

FINISHED JUNE 03, 2013

Taller In More Ways

Everybody talks bad about somebody and
Never realize how it affects somebody and
You bet it won't be forgotten
Envy is the only thing it could be.

People are all the same

And we only get judged by what we do
Personality reflects name
And if I'm ugly, then so are you.

THE 'MARY, SCHERRIE & SUSAYE' FINALE: 18 MINUTES OF AWESOMENESS!!

The three final cuts, alternate versions of cuts from The Supremes' final LP Mary Scherrie & Susaye from 1976 - from Volume 2 of the Supremes 70's boxed sets, is like approx 18 minutes of awesomeness!

I could have this trilogy of MSS cuts on replay.  The only thing missing is my favorite single from the LP, "Let Yourself Go" - if I could fit it in between those three, I'd make it the next-to-last cut (before "Love I Never Knew....").  THIS version of "Driving Wheel" should have been the mix used as the single, and it would have charted much higher than the LP edit single version.  And same with this version of "Love I Never Knew", which is missing that first instrumental break with the flutes and muted trumpet.

If Mary, Scherrie & Susaye is EVER given the single-disc release (outside of the boxed set the fans campaigned for and thankfully had gotten - and then some!), PLEASE let me assist in picking which versions of each cut, and re-release it THAT way - using cuts 1 and 3 in place of the original LP versions, most definitely.  They have more life to them, and "Driving Wheel" with the extra guitar in the mix, sounding like a musician from CHIC, makes it even better than the original mix.  I'd keep the original LP version of "Sweet Dream Machine" though - that one's good enough "as is".  I'd do my favorite LP by The Supremes justice! LOL  ;)

All the fans know how enthusiastic I am about their final and best album!

MORE Q*BERT FUN: MELLO YELLO Q*BERT (PROMOTIONAL ARCADE GAME)

SPEAKING of Q*Bert, from the last post:

In 1983, Gottlieb for some reason teamed up with Mello Yello soft drink (do they even MAKE Mello Yello anymore?!? LOL), and released the promotional coin-op arcade game MELLO YELLO Q*BERT.  The only difference between the original and MYQ*B is the cutscene after completing two pyramid's on each level.  Cute, on the same level as the cutscenes from Pac-Man after completing a couple mazes at a time.

Really, there isn't a version of Q*Bert I DON'T like, but not too keen on the Atari 2600 version, the one I got for Xmas 1983.  It was OK for the platform but will ALWAYS prefer the arcade version from 1983.  The barely-noticed 3-D Q*Bert 3 for Super NES wasn't half-bad, either.

Let's have some color-changing fun!!

If I EVER play a winning lotto ticket, which I rarely do - aside from my own Jabba's Palace, I ALSO want a life-sized color-changing Q*Bert  pyramid!  Those would be my two "splurge" things, the rest invested wisely! LOL

HALF-HOUR 80's MIX-SHOW: VOLUME 01

Finished originally on May 24, 2013 and had already posted it a while back on my MixCloud profile.  Now in video form as an alternative to the audio player there.

A little of everything, something from Wham!'s first LP (BEFORE they "made it big" and were more dressed like leather jacket wearing S&M enthusiast's) to start with.

KITTEN KABOODLE: KONAMI COIN-OP ARCADE GAME (1988)

I'd never played this arcade game prior to discovering it on the MAME emulator, and if it's by Konami, there's a good bet it's halfassed decent.  One title caught my attention:

KITTEN KABOODLE

It reminds me a lot of the early 80's arcade game Pengo.  Collect the keys to open the door and advance to the next level, sometimes (and annoyingly MANY times) randomly pushing a block and walking into a casino or store, where you can spend your accumulated cash and diamonds.

Another feature reminds me of another cool game, Taito's Bubble Bobble: in that game, if you took too long finishing the level, Baron Von Blubba, some albino red-eyed fish would appear out of nowhere and stalk until he catches you.  In Kitten Kaboodle, if you take too long, a bass fish materializes at the top of the screen, and like BVB, stalks you like a homing missile until he collides with you.  I shit you not.  It's THAT "out there".

It was hysterical enough for me to like and I'll have to review it soon with commentary.

Now WHO can refuse a game about KITTIES?!?

SO FAR.......MY VINTAGE KENNER STAR WARS COLLECTION

I believe this is everything vintage Kenner I have so far.  The last two, Minnie meeting that yellowed Wampa! LOL
