THREE UNDER-RATED PERSONAL FAVORITES BY DIANA ROSS [MOTOWN 1970-81]

Some of the best is the first few years after leaving The Supremes.......

1:  "SURRENDER" from the 1971 LP Surrender.  This version is an alternate take.  "COME ALONG PEACEFULLY!!".

2:  "I WON'T LAST A DAY WITHOUT YOU" from the 1973 LP Touch Me In The Morning.  Hands down my favorite cut by Ross and was only a B-Side.  The same cut recorded by The Carpenters and Freda Payne is just as good.

3:  "TENDERNESS" [the CHIC mix] from the 1980 LP diana.  Before the finished version of the album, the men of the group CHIC produced the original version of the LP, which was scrapped in favor of Diana's less-discofied version of the cuts.  I liked the unreleased CHIC mix of "Tenderness" much better than the original album mix - might as well call it "CHIC featuring Diana Ross".  Check out the guitar in the outro!  100% CHIC sound.
