And surprisingly out of all the singers and musician's she's interviewed to this date, I have to say La Toya Jackson tolerated, humored and went out of her way to "understand" the so-called Japanese lady Ushi, doing the interviewing - disguised and played by Wendy van Dijk. In all cases, Wendy met the celebrity casually the previous day and had taken a picture together. I've NEVER seen anyone guess it was Wendy until she takes off the glasses, wig and removes her fake teeth LOL
All the Ushi interviews are hilarious - The Three Degrees, Shaggy, Lionel Richie, Donny Osmond, Geri Halliwell, Izora and The Weather Girls, Kim Wilde, Adele and many others.
I know La Toya got a reputation as a weirdo in the late-80's/90's, but at this time, she was in an abusive relationship and you couldn't blame her for acting up, having deju vu like her own abusive and controlling father (AKA the Jackson 5's man with the whip, running the family show).
Nowadays she seems humbled and much more of a pleasant and reserved person. A totally new La Toya. And I LOVE her self-titled first LP from 1980 but especially the very 80's Heart Don't Lie album from 1984. Fortunately they've been getting the first-time-on-CD reissue these past couple years.
