It was recorded but never included on either LP by The Glass House, released in the early 70's - and "The Fox" went unreleased until H-D-H reissued some of their Hot Wax and Invictus Records catalog on CD for the first time in the early 2000's. The collection H-D-H had assembled included the unreleased "The Fox" and I was surprised it wasn't a single because it was good enough, for the time it was recorded. Would have fit in with all the blaxploitation-era stuff at that time as well.
Before she joined The Supremes, Scherrie Payne with The Glass House had recorded the (unreleased) tale of the rise and downfall.....
of a PIMP.
I like songs that "tells a story" and this one became one of my favorites by the group. The Glass House didn't have as many hits as others on those two labels, but the material wasn't bad at all.
