WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR NATIONAL ANTHEM WITH OR WITHOUT MUSIC?

Either way, The Supremes - Scherrie Payne, Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong - had to do both between 1974-75.

First at a FOOSball game - I don't know which teams because I couldn't give a rat's ass about that sport.  The only reason I go to Super Bowl events is to get wasted.

The second was their infamous appearance at a Muhammed Ali fight (1975).  As the girls waited to begin, they were told they had no music to accompany their vocals, and had to sing the National Anthem acapella.  See this, Beyonce?  No auto-tune needed!

Like Lynda Laurence, Scherrie Payne as soon as she joined the group, was thrown into an awkward situation or two.  And both pulled through with flying colors.
