FLORENCE BALLARD, POST SUPREMES

"A BELL AIN'T A BELL UNTIL YOU RING IT
A SONG AIN'T A SONG UNTIL YOU SING IT"

After Florence Ballard was fired from The Supremes and replaced with Cindy Birdsong, she not long after got a record deal with ABC Records and released two singles that ultimately flopped: the cutesy and kinda-lame "It Doesn't Matter How I Say It (It's What I Say That Matters)", and the MUCH better "Love Ain't Love", both released in 1968.

Some say Berry Gordy and/or Motown associates interfered with her solo career, which unfortunately didn't take off even though she had a few live gigs.  When she was about to begin with her solo act once again around 1976 is when she passed away (coronary thrombosis, something like that).

I'd found this 45 RPM to digital transfer several years ago and is played on the CORRECT speed - which wasn't the case on the 2000 CD The Supreme Florence Ballard.
