Two of my favorite 90's divas whose lives were cut off WAY too short, and as both were in a transitional period of their career. Selena, the Tejano singer from Texas was just starting to cross over as an English language artist, with two hit singles around the time of her murder in 1994 (by her fan club president, a BIG ol' lezbulldagga!!). Melanie Thornton was the singer of La Bouche and the first singer of Le Click, who'd just released her first solo album, ironically entitled Learning To Fly. Melanie died in a plane crash over Germany in the early 2000's.
